Working collaboratively with all global facilities on category innovations and initiatives that drive total cost reduction and margin growth for all Welbilt brands.  In addition, you will lead supplier development activities and conduct negotiations through a robust RFQ process, while delivering measured strategic growth.   Reporting directly to the Director Global Category Sourcing and EMEA Support; this position is located in Mount Pleasant, MI.   We put the 'fast' in fast food and the refinement in fine dining.   • Value and cost improvements across the global metal fabrication category
  • Lead supplier development activities the grow Welbilt's strategic objectives (cost, quality and delivery)
  • Internal lead stakeholder working cross functionally and cross brand to deliver cost effective solutions that drive value, lower cost and improve margin
  • Member of the sourcing leadership team that works collaboratively to design, develop and implement new and improvements to Welbilt's sourcing processes
  Essential Job Functions:  
  • Responsible to provide collaborative and fact led business cases for metal fabrication outsourcing opportunities
  • Create RFQ's that drive the ability to make informed business decisions
  • Create, define and implement a category strategy for metal fabrication for our global operations
  • Develop 'winning' relationships and networks across our business and our supplier base
  • Lead member of the sourcing team, developing new innovative processes that drive value
  • Deliver margin growth across our brands from better value metal fab insource or outsource solutions
  • Create and deliver regular metric driven reports that show measurable success in the category
  • Visit our suppliers and our sites on a regular basis to identify and deliver opportunities

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:  
  • Bachelor’s Degree; preferably in Engineering; with a minimum of 10 years’ of category management and sourcing experience is required.
  • Experience working in manufacturing with a preferred specialization in metal fabrication.
  • Experience with major global category management in a sourcing capacity.
  • Proven track record of delivering value and cost saving through effective sourcing.
  • Demonstrate leadership and management through example, providing inspiration, reassurance and confidence through an effective presence and professional approach is critical to success. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Familiar and able to work with Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time – required.
