Job Requirements

Job Responsibilities: -

  • Responsible for preparation and handling full set of shipping documents including export Letter of Credit (LC) documentation, LC negotiation, Certificate of Origin, etc.
  • Liaise & coordinate with export freight forwarders/customers/suppliers/banks to ensure accuracy & compliance in shipment documentation to facilitate smooth delivery/clearance of export shipments.
  • Negotiate and review freight rates with freight forwarders, courier companies to achieve cost competitiveness. Centralize the shipping function and being the key contact person for all export shipping matters in the company.
  • Close follow up and monitoring of delivery schedule with internal departments eg, Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse, to ensure timely export shipment to customer
  • Issue Request for Quotation for freight rate comparison
  • Develop reliable alternative sources of forwarders to meet organization requirements and cost competitiveness as and when the need arises
  • Resolve issues/complaints on all export shipment matters
  • File insurance claims to insurance company for damaged goods reported
  • Verify export freight invoice against quotation to ensure billing is done correctly and perform freight adjustment to the ERP system to meet month end closing
  • Perform weekly reports on export shipment schedule and status
  • Build up a database for freight rates compilation on a shared platform

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma in Logistics Management/ Supply Chain related field.
  • Proficient in MS Office & ERP system.
  • Good working knowledge in shipping incoterms, freight negotiation.
  • Relevant and current working experience in LC and LC negotiation is a must.
