If so, then you could be our next Shipping Coordinator (Customer Service Specialist) at Welbilt Inc.’s Mississauga facility.   As the Shipping Coordinator - you will be accountable for Shipping and Receiving responsibilities and will work with the transportation companies, suppliers and vendors, shippers and receivers. This is an Afternoon Shift position.   Reporting directly to the Warehouse & Traffic Supervisor this position is located in Mississauga, ON, Canada*.   We put the 'fast' in fast food and the refinement in fine dining.   • Escalate if necessary to the Traffic and Warehousing Supervisor to coordinate (in alphabetical order) with Credit, CSR’s, Engineering, Manufacturing and Marketing so as to facilitate finished goods, manufactured parts and trade show items being available to ship on time while balancing the time constraints of customs-house requirements, ocean lines, airlines and truck line-hauls
  • In consultation with the Traffic and Warehousing Supervisor, coordinate the expectation and scheduling with shippers/receivers on a daily basis to meet on time shipping and receiving in full
  • Allocate finished goods and manufactured parts to corresponding sales orders
  • Prepare pick lists for shop floor employees to gather product for shipment.  Must ensure that pick list is accurate to sales order and all products and/or parts are available on the pick list unless otherwise stated (i.e. partial shipments)
  • In consultation with the Traffic and Warehousing Supervisor, contact motor carriers for pickups and schedule truck traffic arrival to the yard and on dock for safe and efficient loading
  • Provide on-the-spot quotes for expedited shipments that provide a cost effective solution that meets all of the needs required by the customer (i.e. tailgate delivery, delivery appointment, etc.) and the company
  • Prepare customs documents for all cross border shipments.  This includes both parcel and freight shipments pertaining to sales orders and vendor returns
  • In consultation with the Traffic and Warehousing Supervisor, communicate with customs brokers to clarify/correct any issues pertaining to customs in a quick manner to keep the supply chain flowing
  • Comply with laws, regulations and standards of appropriate governing bodies at both the point of origin and the final consignee
  • Escalate if necessary to the Traffic and Warehousing Supervisor to remedy issues such as damages, loss, refusals and shortages

Job Requirements

  Job Requirements: 
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent; and a minimum of 3 years of direct work experience in shipping/transport or customer service is required.
  • Excellent written and oral English language skills
  • Competent with Microsoft office suite of software
  • Ability to work with and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization – both internally and externally.
  • Strong problem solving/analytical skills.   
  • Strong teamwork skills. Must be a team player. 
  • Must be well organized and capable of multi-tasking.
