Then look no further – your new career as a Manager of Quality awaits at Welbilt facility*.   As the Manager of Quality, this individual will be responsible for developing and enforcing methodologies that insure the product shipping from the Mount Pleasant facility meets the specifications for the product ordered by the customer in terms of functionality, appearance, and delivery on all options ordered by the customer.   • Constantly evaluate, modify, and execute a very self-directed plan to meet the rapidly changing product line and production demands of the Mount Pleasant Facility while making progress towards long-term initiatives.      
  • Review financial and operational results on customer complaints.  Review analysis of activities, costs, operations, and assists in forecasting risk from warranty activities.           
  • Working closely with Materials, Engineering, and Manufacturing identify and investigate quality issues that arise from issues with purchased parts or materials.  Work directly with vendors to document control processes implemented to mitigate issues.  
  • Review the production schedule for volume with manufacturing and manage priorities of Quality Inspectors on the floor.   
  • Generate daily metric for First Pass Yield.  Monitor daily metrics:  Safety, On Time Delivery, and Productivity.  Meet with staff to understand the root cause of issues and resolution plans.           
  • Develop long term, intermediate term, and short term plans for the facility.  Create plans that are dynamic enough to flex to the various ebbs and flows of the rapidly changing production schedule at this location.           
  • Participate in and oversee processes to strategically evaluate employees in assigned area for development and succession.          
  • Review and approve preparation of accounting analysis: for budgetary planning and implementation, capital requests on new production lines or inspection processes, financial reporting, budgetary planning.           
  • Analyze training needs and develop training plan when necessary for critical floor classifications and supervisors.    
  • Participate in and occasionally lead cross-functional teams, including ECN, New Product Development, and Kaizen Events.
  • Maintain computerized files in Excel, Word, QAD, Access, and other applications.           
  • Investigate all customer complaints to a root cause and chair cross functional meeting.  
  • Attend the Warranty Reduction Meetings and lead the team to continuously address warranty root cause issues.  Report to Senior Staff on financial impact, frequency, and action steps taken by the team.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing is required; will consider an Associate’s Degree in Engineering or Quality with a minimum of 9 years’ experience  a manufacturing environment in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Dynamic leadership abilities are required.
  • Previous Supervisory experience required.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing is required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are required.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel is required.
  • MRP experience is preferred.
  • Warranty reduction experience preferred.
