  • Product lifecycle and product roadmap development on a global scale
  • Manage NPI business case development and related marketing responsibilities 
  • Manage product market and price positioning, profitability, and support commercial activities
  • Collaborate with corporate marcom to develop marketing materials/campaigns, web presence management, sales tool development and product training events
  Essential Job Functions:  
  • Responsible for profitable management of assigned product lines and categories, and for strategic and tactical leadership, direction, management and implementation of product decisions within the assigned product categories on a global basis.  This role is global in scope including product marketing responsibility of assigned product categories for the Americas, EMEA, & APAC regions.                          
  • Competitive Benchmarking – Supports competitive room initiative for assigned product categories.  Identify product line gaps in our global product range for future NPI consideration.
  • Manage global customer satisfaction and customer life experience of assigned product family, including development, of monitoring and improving warranty performance, introducing product upgrades, developing service initiatives and other programs to assure continuing revenue from long-life products.
  • Develop and recommend price positioning and distribution strategies of assigned product categories for the company which will result in the greatest share of market and profitability over the long run.  Work directly with sales, service and other functional groups globally to ensure effective implementation of pricing and distribution strategies to all customers, segments and channels, including distribution, national accounts and service.
  • Conduct market research and VOC initiatives for assigned product categories including the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions utilizing internal and external resources, utilize tools such as QFD and others to uncover end-users needs, evaluate the results and report on customer satisfaction, to include studies to determine market potential for new, redesigned, or existing products.  Assure that market and competitive intelligence is current and constantly analyzed so that market opportunities may be capitalized and competitive issues addressed.  Manage and report market information including statistical market share data, competitive information, and market trends.
  • Analyze global product sales by region, market, and segments to identify areas of strength and weakness.  Review sales forecast, develop with operations management build and inventory management plans to maximize profit and balance operating expenses.   Work with global sales management to develop and implement a strategy to maximize product penetration in those areas. Prepare global product launches with all support functions and readiness.
  • P&L - tracks margin; ownership of margin; input to increase reliability; input to aftermarket services and 'products' (extended warranty, monitoring, etc.)


Job Requirements

Job Requirements:  
  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Business/Sales/Marketing is required. MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience is required; Must have strong focus in marketing/product management.
  • Direct experience with product management in a durable capital goods company; with sales through one or two step distribution channels on a global scale is desired.
  • Creative with strong leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer software, with demonstrated competence with spreadsheets and database applications – must be proficient in Excel.
  • Must have the ability to maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time – required.
