As Product Engineer, you will be responsible for researching, planning, designing, and developing mechanical and electromechanical custom food service products and systems.  This role is also responsible for the timely, cost effective organization and development of product designs, component and material requirements, bills of materials, and assembly instructions for some of the World’s leading commercial food service equipment.   Reporting directly to the Design Engineer Manager, this position is located in Mississauga, ON*.   We put the 'fast' in fast food and the refinement in fine dining.   • Designs and develops systems, components, assemblies and specifications as required for specific products. 
  • Evaluate present product and make continuous improvements including cost and warranty reductions.  Respond to, identify and recommend solutions to manufacturing and quality issues.
  • Respond to service, sale and marketing special requests and application issues
  • Participates on cross functional project teams, interfacing directly with Sales, Accounting, Service, Marketing, Manufacturing and Materials representatives
  • Specifies, supervises or performs testing as required to support engineering initiatives.
  • Solid modeling & programming 3D software
  • Mechanical & Sheet metal design
  • Current and new product evaluation and enhancement
  • Respond to customers, Sales, and Service special request and application issues
  • Bill of Material creation and maintenance   

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Engineering degree; with a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience is required.
  • Strong skills in Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Internet software (Microsoft Office).
  • Strong skills in the design of commercial food equipment
  • Basic skills in regulatory agency (UL/CSA/NSF)
  • Strong skills in ECN documentation and implementation and in QAD bill of material and part maintenance
  • Analytical skills in utilizing and programming SolidWorks 3D modeling software
  • Good understanding/skills of required documentation on test reports, standards & procedures along with the PCTO process
  • Demonstrate sound problem-solving skills using engineering practices.
  • Strong communications skills both orally and written.                                                     
  • Takes initiatives and follows through tasks with the least amount of supervision.
