As Senior Pricing Analyst, this person provides analysis to ensure the pricing of goods and services is competitive for current and future products across targeted customer/market segments. Responsibilities include researching the market to understand competitive landscape, identifying target market position by geography, market segment, customer group, etc., and developing pricing strategy (e.g., low price or high quality) to achieve targeted market position.  The Senior Pricing Analyst applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.  Manages projects / processes working independently and with limited supervision.  Problems are often difficult and complex.

Reporting directly to the Manager Materials, this position will be located in our Manitowoc, WI facility.

Major Accountability:

  • Conducts market research gathering competitive intelligence to make recommendations regarding pricing policies 

  • Maintains historical pricing data on the organization and its competitors. 

  • Coordinates and communicates pricing information for new product releases. 

  • Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. 

  • Utilizing corporate systems, creates and approves profitable parts list prices to optimize gross margin while increasing sales

  • Researches and records competitive market-based activities for generic and OEM competitive items.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interfaces with different systems to maintain consistency of parts pricing between manufacturing facilities.

  • Prepares pricing templates for new items and recommends pricing to Product Line Managers

  • Provides critical leadership in annual RFP processes. Prepares pricing file analysis and maintenance; updates and reviews with Sales and Finance teams and coordinates all activity up to and including submission to the customers.

  • Responsible for standardization and harmonization of list prices.
    Prepares product cost analysis, including material, labor and burden components and explain changes. Understands BOM and cost roll processes, and updates inter-plant price lists.

  • Supports Product Managers in price analysis and customer profitability; generates product line, item profitability reports.

  • Analyzes product volume, margin and competitive prices; make pricing recommendations (e.g., proposed prices and overall impact) to management process.

  • May be responsible for coaching and reviewing the work of lower level professionals.


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business, Finance or Accounting and a minimum of four years of experience with product costing to relate margin impact and cost changes to the Product Management Team.  Will consider twelve years of previous product costing experience in lieu of education.  
  • Demonstrated ability to complete quality work in a fast-paced high-volume environment. 
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects. 
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail. 
  • Strong data analysis. 
  • Customer service and problem resolution skills to build strong relationships with all levels of staff and management. 
  • Strong proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. 
  • Detailed, process, system oriented. 
  • Independent and team worker. 
  • Self-motivated.
