Then look no further – your future in Engineering starts today at Welbilt.   As the Manager Engineering, you will manage and direct the engineering organization for the product line toward its primary technological objectives, based on long-term product development, product reliability and profitability goals.   Reporting directly to the Vice President and Managing Director- Garland, this position is located in Mississauga, ON*.   We put the 'fast' in fast food and the refinement in fine dining.   • Plans, coaches, develops and directs the work of highly skilled engineers and staff to achieve the development and support of world class products and technologies
  • Advises, guides, directs and authorizes the engineering team to carry out major plans and procedures to ensure schedule attainment, product development process adherence, performance and budget targets are met
  • Direct NPI activities including creating timelines and budgets and ensuring these are obtained
  • Develops engineering policies, processes, procedures, and standards to allow the development and sustainment of products.  Ensures that the above are consistent with Welbilt engineering
  • Design world class new products to meet cost, reliability, and performance criteria, from concept through testing and full production following the Product Development Process
  • Reviews operating results of the organization, compares them to established objectives, and take steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results
  • Manages engineering, labs and change control and agency function; ensures records, drawings and test reports are organized and up to date
  • Direct Engineering Lab to ensure testing is completed per timelines in a safe and efficient manner
  • Manages routine product testing and issues reports outlining results; ensures all product complies with approval agency requirements, and obtains approvals where needed
  • Direct Sustaining Engineering to ensure product reliability, cost containment, agency certifications
  • Establishes new product release schedules in accordance with business market needs and priorities
  • Direct Bill of Materials group to ensure accuracy of bills

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Engineering degree; with a minimum of 8 years of engineering experience is required
  • Strong communication skills both orally and written
  • Experience in leading and developing a team of direct reports
  • Knowledge of ovens systems
  • Understanding of Engineering software programs - CAD, Pro-E
  • Solid business acumen with strong technical skills
  • Ability to interface with customers
