Welbilt’s internship program is designed to expose individuals to all phases of the foodservice equipment value chain and will take place at the Corporate Headquarters in New Port Richey, FL.

  • Strengthen professional skills in the areas of - design conceptualization, customer interaction, functional requirement specifications, detailed electrical design, equipment manufacturing, sub-system interfaces, new product development team activities, design for manufacturing and design for serviceability
  • Learn and grow alongside engineers and product managers as they develop solutions to meet challenging customer needs
  • Report to the Director Engineering
  • Design, develop, prototype, test and implement improvements to new or existing products using SolidWorks and established production systems
  • Assist team members with high priority projects to achieve team goals - including but not limited to: drafting, fabricating, wiring, testing and standardized work
  • Interact directly with customers to understand needs and desires and translate them into models, renderings and prototypes

Job Requirements

Program Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at an accredited school. Must have completed Sophomore year of coursework prior to the start of the internship.
  • Knowledge or experience working with operating systems, such as: Solidworks and Microsoft Office.
  • Other valuable experience - Pro/E, Creo, AutoCAD, Catia, Zuken E3, or other 3D CAD package, Labworks, Arduino/C++ software, heat transfer/fluid mechanics, electric circuits
  • Working environment - Normal office and lab conditions with extended periods of sitting or standing. Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.
  • Schedule - Normal business hours; up to 30 hours per week
  • Must have valid US work authorization
