As a Manufacturing Engineer at Welbilt you provide day to day support to production on Manufacturing Engineering related matters to ensure availability for assembly processes & equipment to collaborate on Production’s metrics & goal achievement, meet the applicable Safety, Quality, Health & Environmental and Human Resources policies and procedures. 

Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, this position is located in Mississauga, ON.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assists in preparing and revising Bills of Materials (Product Structures), drawings and work instructions for Manufacturing while interacting with hourly employees and office personnel. 

  • Works on special projects including equipment justification, sales equipment redesign/new design and shop efficiency improvements. Conducts feasibility studies, determines manpower and cost estimates, and develops engineering criteria. Performs analyses to develop design options or recommendations for structures, systems and components.

  • Supports Lean Initiatives throughout the plant. Working cross functionally with other team members, has primary responsibility for process design and modifications.  Continuously improving the work flow and procedures in the assembly of equipment

  • Researches, sources, and documents proposals for new equipment and manufacturing methods.  Implements solutions when approved.

  • Performs role on Safety Incident Investigation Teams, as needed.  Conducts safety inspections and tasks as required.  Creating Job Safety Analysis (JSA)

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering.
  • Experience with Solidworks 2D and 3D; exposure/certified in LEAN manufacturing and/or Six Sigma. 
  • Microsoft office applications used frequently.
  • Good interpersonal skills to influence team members.
  • Experience using AutoCad, SolidWorks or Pro-Engineering software packages.
