The Trade Show Manager supports Welbilt’s business through effective and efficient planning, coordination and execution of national and regional trade shows in the US.  This role acts as the central point of contact for all tradeshow activity and is responsible for ensuring booth properties, budgeting, communications, and cross functional team stakeholder needs are met. As such, they must be able to conceptualize, drive, and articulate creative and strategic recommendations in a highly consultative manner while ensuring a superb execution across a wide range of industries and locations.

 

Reporting directly to the Manager Marketing Communications & Services, this position is based in New Port Richey, Florida or may work remotely.

  Major Accountability:
  • Manage all U.S. based tradeshows, conferences, and events through planning, coordination and execution to support corporate messaging and goals.

  • Set daily priorities based on individual tradeshow calendar and deadlines.

  • Lead, direct and motivate cross-functional team members and vendors to execute participation to high standards.

 

Essential Job Functions:                    

  • Manage the planning, coordination and execution of industry and key account shows.

  • Travel to tradeshow event locations and lead booth installation/de-installation and on-site booth management. Work closely with vendor partners to arrange space, physically set-up and dismantle exhibits, and plan and coordinate the routing of exhibits shipped in/out for the convention program.

  • Direct and manage show development including administrative tasks such as housing, registrations, booth signage, onsite services, equipment ordering, drayage, etc.

  • Facilitate all on-site needs including booth set-up, tear down, electrical, water/drain, internet connections, etc.

  • Lead booth layout, new design efforts in collaboration with creative marketing team.

  • Manage tradeshow contractors to assist with the execution of Welbilt tradeshows.

  • Manage payment of exhibit fees for registration, convention booth space, all show services and vendor support.

  • Negotiate contacts and manage relationships with vendors and prepare ROI evaluations of events.

  • Manage and recommend continuous improvements for booth properties and convention assets; recommend exhibit upgrades.

  • Work with Product and Brand Marketing and Sales teams on the development and management of budgets, show floor plans and activities related to individual events.

  • Manage regional marketing budget up to $5M annually, provide monthly reporting and codes transactions to project budgets.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field is preferred; with a minimum of 4 years of direct experience in event planning and managing trade shows is required

  • Must be financially able to cover expenses during travel time subject to company reimbursement on completion

  • Able to work efficiently in multiple environments including offices, convention/conference centers, hotels, and other event locations

  • Strong project and time management skills

  • Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and energized by speed

  • Positive and energetic attitude with a strong motivation to grow

  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Adobe Cloud Suite preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication skills

  • Foodservice industry knowledge or experience is a plus

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time. This includes, but is not limited to, at least two weeks at a time, per quarter, for onsite management of trade shows which includes evenings and weekends as required.

  • Must be able to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and often push or move up to 100 pounds.

  • Must be able to bend, squat or move behind large pieces of equipment, and speed walk or move with urgency to service desks or booths as needed. Position requires close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
