Job Description

 The Manager, Facility / Maintenance II is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the facility in support of all plant operations and facility maintenance.  Develops and implements a Preventative Maintenance & TPM program that will improve equipment effectiveness. Supports and implements direct plant construction projects for capacity improvements and new product launches.  The position manages 1st level supervisors or exempt professional staff or a larger staff of maintenance technicians who construct, maintain, and repair facilities systems, buildings, and equipment including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heating/ventilation/air conditioning (HVAC), welding, and mechanical repair & maintenance; oversees machining repair & maintenance trades (i.e., tool & die making, mold making, metal part making, etc.). Responsibilities typically include setting goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results. Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Direct the efforts of the Maintenance department including machine repair, installation and regular preventative maintenance of all equipment.  Manage maintenance and facility equipment inventory.
  • Provide direction and technical support within all areas of the fabrication department and assembly departments including developing critical spares lists, inventory of spares, and supplier inventory of spares for critical equipment.     

  • Manage all facility contractors and maintain yearly contracts.

  • Safety program champion for elements related to contractor, equipment, electrical and fire prevention safety in the Safety Management System.

Job Requirements

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve the machine Preventative Maintenance plan. 
  • Develop, implement and continuously improve a comprehensive TPM program that engages the entire factory population.

  • Responsible for plant security and fire protection and facilities operation excellence; manages the security, fire and on call teams.

  • Manages inventory of equipment and arranges equipment sales and transfers to outside sources including other Welbilt facilities.

Specialized Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Associate degree in Maintenance or Manufacturing and 7 years experience is required. 7 years of experience in lieu of education will be considered.
  • Automotive component manufacturing environment experience preferred.
  • Press Brake, Punch Press, Laser Cutter, and Foaming technology experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with shop employees, company executives, and vendors/contractors.
  • EPA certification preferred.
