Technical guru.  Self-motivated.  Results driven.  Is this you?  Then look no further, your career in Information Systems (IS) awaits you at Welbilt*.   The Lead Software Engineer will be responsible for Welbilt’s Digital/IoT Cloud Applications and Embedded Software development deliverables.  This is a hands-on leadership position that will lead design, development, testing, and deployment activities for our communications boards, cloud, mobile, and middleware applications.  This is a senior level position that will lead a team of software engineers (on-site/remote) and will need to translate business vision and requirements into technical specifications.   Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Strategy, Marketing & Digital , this position is based in New Port Richey, Florida.   We put the 'fast' in fast food and the refinement in fine dining.   • Embedded software, cloud applications, and middleware development
  • Agile development (Sprint/Scrum) management
  • Maintain and Create project technical documentation, requirements, test, validation and release process.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Manage software engineers, processes, tools, and controls
  • Agile Management for Digital applications and embedded software projects
  • Hands on design, development and testing of Cloud applications and embedded software
  • Budget management
  • Collaborate with customers, engineering, IT, product management and others to
  • Support field tests, deployments, and releases
  • Ensure internal and sox audit requirements are met
  • Manage the functional requirement and technical specification process

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science,  Information Systems, or Electronics/Communications Engineering preferred.
  • 10-15 years of experience in software development or IT programming required
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience in a lead software engineering role implementing and managing best practice development controls and processes required
  • Experience managing tight timelines using agile development practices required
  • Experience in Digital, IoT, Cloud technologies especially in Amazon Web Services (AWS), databases, and software security concepts required
  • Experience in designing applications architectures and integrating systems required
  • Proficient in software tools - IDE, Compilers, Debug tools, Network troubleshooting tools. Issues tracking tool, and configuration Management tools required                                                                                                                     
  • Proficient in Computer Programming and Markup Languages- C, C++, C#, Java Script, HTML, PHP, Python, CSS, Java, Objective C., .NET4.5, ASP.NET MVC, C#, ADO.Net, SQL Server preferred
  • Experience programming and testing in (JavaScript, Jquery, HTML5, CSS3, LINQ) preferred
  • Experience with Ethernet, Wi-Fi networks, LAN, PAN, WAN and Mobile Networks
  • Familiar with Operating Systems- Windows, Linux, iOS and Android.                                                                                    
  • Familiar with ioT (Internet of Things) protocols like MQTT, AMQP, HTTPS, SNMP, FTP etc. along with Security aspects.
  • Experience with Protocols like RS485, CAN, TCP/IP, ZigBee, Mi-Wi, NB-IOT and other ioT related technologies
  • Experience with UI Design (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap, Responsive HTML and Adobe Photoshop)
