As the Human Resource Representative you will provide technical human resources assistance and administrative support to management and associates using established guidelines.

Reporting directly to the Associate HR Business Partner, this position is based in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Effectively manage employee relations including day to day problem resolution, policy, procedures, compensation, benefits, etc.
  • Utilize established protocols and relationships to manage, and conduct recruitment campaigns for all hourly/production non-exempt and temporary associates.  Manage hourly recruiting by initiating and posting requisitions schedule and coordinate interviews and initiate pre-screening process.  Manage new hire orientation and on-boarding programs.
  • Maintain HRIS records and all HR documentation to insure systematic, accurate, compliant records are maintained.  Works in Taleo and HR Fusion as well as other software to maintain records of personnel transactions such as hire, promotions, transfers, reviews and terminations and employee statistical reporting to gov't regulators. 
  • Provide training and act as resource to all employees with respect to benefits.  Benefit Administration to include assistance with claims resolutions, change reporting and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Address and manage employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns/union grievances. Analyze employment-related data and prepare required reports.  Promptly respond to grievances and maintain grievance log.
  • Assist in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.  Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local legal requirements. Consults with HR leadership and legal counsel to ensure policies and procedure comply  with legal requirements, including AAP.
  • Effectively communicate and present material of varying complexity including but not limited to one on one meetings, group meetings, and facility-wide all employee meetings to employees at all levels in the organization.
  • Maintain ADP time & attendance system.  Administer hourly attendance system.  Analyze and reconcile all payroll records and prepare timely associated reports, journal entries, and forms on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.

Job Requirements

 Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Human Resources or a High School diploma with at least 8 years’ experience in Human Resources in lieu of degree required.

• Experience in a unionized manufacturing facility preferred.

• Experience with ADP or other timekeeper system required.

• Experience in HRIS program required.

• Knowledge of State and Federal law in HR required as well as knowledge of principles and practices of human resources.

• PHR Certification preferred.

• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power Point required.

• Customer focused.

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize.

• Ability to work in fast paced environment.

• Ability to create momentum and foster organizational change.
