We are looking for an HR professional who has true generalist experience in a Manufacturing operation. This role requires experience in the following areas: Talent Acquisition, Labour/Employee Relations, Compensation, Training & Development, Compliance and Talent Planning. The HR Lead is part of a small collaborative HR team and has two direct reports.  
Reporting directly to the Director HR Americas, this position is in Mississauga, ON.   We put the 'fast' in fast food and the refinement in fine dining.   • Manage Talent Acquisition for the Mississauga location working collaboratively with the Director, HR Americas
  • Identify local priorities and develop a site HR strategy aligned with the identified site needs
  • Manage employee and labor relations issues including conducting investigations, grievances, preparing for mediations and arbitrations and commending corrective actions, and consulting with management on the appropriate follow through
  • Facilitate performance and compensation reviews for the site working with the site leadership team and the HR COE
  • Monitor local labor market trends, market conditions, and the competitive employment landscape to assess potential impacts for the site
  • Assess and manage compliance needs for the site including required statutory/regulatory reporting requirements (e.g. AODA, ESA, OHRC)

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree (Human Resources or Business preferred) Post-secondary diploma in Human Resources Management if degree is not in Human Resources
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a Human Resources generalist role with a focus on Labour Relations in a Manufacturing environment
  • Prior hands-on experience with unions, collective bargaining agreements, union arbitrations,  and grievances
  • Manufacturing experience is a must
  • HR Operational experience with onboarding, orientation, data entry, and employee time keeping systems
  • Supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels
  • Ability to manage deadlines and problem solve
  • Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information in a discreet manner
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small team
  • Working knowledge of computer software; demonstrated competence with spreadsheets, database applications, and presentations
