As a Financial Analyst, this person will be responsible for helping create, monitor and adjust FSG functional budgets. This role is responsible for running project accounting, maintaining GL account setups, performing monthly close activities and analyzing spend trends, looking for ways to optimize spending and create value for shareholders.  Must be a be a business partner to functional leaders and management as it relates to budgets and spend reporting vs budgets.
 
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance – Shared Services, this position may be located in Manitowoc, WI or New Port Richey, FL.

Major Accountability:

  • Month end close activities and reporting
  • Maintain templates and assist coordination of annual budgets and forecasts for department expenses working closely with department managers and Accounting Manager.
  • Review and analyze department expenses monthly vs. budget/forecast and prior year and proactively summarize and report key variances to Budget Managers and Finance Director.
  • Recurring and ad hoc financial analysis vs. budget/forecast and prior year

Essential Job Functions: 
 

  • Review and analyze department expenses monthly vs. budget/re-estimate and prior year and proactively summarize and report key variances to Budget Managers and Finance Director. Other ad hoc reporting as needed and with minimal supervision, including charts, graphs and extraction of transactional data.
  • Month end close activities and reporting including booking journal entries, creating cost center and project accounting reports, analyzing variances to plan and preparing bridges with explanations of why not just the what
  • Support Budget Managers including analysis on spend throughout the month, on projects and as needed.
  • Maintain templates and assist coordination of annual budgets and forecasts for department expenses working closely with department managers and Accounting Manager.
  • Create and maintain Oracle, HFM and Discoverer reports to support driver-based financial analysis and properly support reconciliation of account activity and balances.
  • Support FSG initiatives and Audit Requests
  • Preparing month end account reconciliations.
  • Ensure adherence to SOX Controls and Corporate Policy

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting/Finance required and a minimum of one year of experience in General Accounting, Variance Analysis or will consider nine years of previous progressive experience in General Accounting and Variance Analysis in lieu of education.
•Strong MS Office.  Proficient in excel, including pivot tables, charts and complex formulas.
•Strong ERP experience, preferably in Oracle.
•Demonstrated propensity for data analysis.
•Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
•Experience in General Ledger setups a plus.
•Strong technical background for system setups a plus.
