The Engineering Technologist II develops detailed design drawings and related specifications of electro-mechanical equipment by performing the duties listed below.


Reporting directly to the Director Engineering, this position is based in Shreveport, Louisiana*.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape and arrangement of parts.

  • Sketches rough layout of equipment or component and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages, and location of holes.

  • Computes magnitude, direction, and point of application of tension, compression, and bending forces, and develops geometric shape of component parts to accommodate operating loads.

  • Drafts detailed multiview drawings of equipment and subassemblies.

  • Modifies design to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems and material and/or labor costs.

  • Measures equipment and component parts during production to ensure compliance with design specifications.

  • Uses computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs.

  • Provides work instructions to and works with machine specialists, manufacturing fabricators, and assemblers during product development and production introduction phases.




Job Requirements

  • Technical or Associate Degree preferred.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience.

  • Experience in 3D CAD, Pro-E, Solidworks, 3D Solid Modeling, Microsoft Office.

  • Experience with the ECO process preferred.

  • Solid communication skills and ability to work in a team atmosphere.

Working Conditions:

  • Mostly office environment, but some plant floor work will be required.

  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
