Under close supervision, this position works with the Engineering Lab Team to maintain Lincoln/Garland products agency compliance. The Test Engineer works with various agencies on new and existing product certification, works with Design Engineers on NPI/ reliability/ sustaining testing and reporting. The role also supports other departments on agency compliance matters.

Reporting to the Engineering Lab Manager, this position is located in Mississauga, ON*.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Work safely and possess the discernment of when to ask for help/training on equipment, process, or task

  • Understand agency standards and compliance rules relating to Lincoln/Garland products 

  • Act as a contributing team member in lab activities

  • Provide clear and concise: verbal and written communication

  • Perform various testing for agency compliance/reliability/sustaining, produce test report                                                                      

  • Work with Engineering team for various projects, assist on test plan/data collecting/cook test                                                                             

  • Assist with internal product audit/testing                     

  • Assist test fixture design/building, prototype building

  • General lab duty

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Engineering degree with a minimum of 0-2 years of engineering experience is required. Preferably in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
  • Experience in a testing lab/ equipment and data acquisition systems is an asset
  • Capable with engineering software such as Solidworks
  • Strong skills in Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Internet software (Microsoft Office).
  • Experience in agency compliance, gas and electric testing is a plus
  • Strong communications skills both orally and written
  • Accountability for actions is a must
  • Must be a team player                                               
  • Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors 100% of the day
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch
  • May be required to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • 5% travel required
