As Collections Analyst – you will be responsible for performing collections and effectively solving problems to resolve account delinquency and prevent losses. You will be responsible for account reconciliations, adjustments, and deductions as well as flag non-compliant accounts. This position will work collaboratively with other team members to resolve issues and requires a strong understanding of accounts receivable policies and procedures in order to properly identify delinquent accounts.

Reporting directly to the Credit Manager – this position will be located in Tampa, FL*.

Major Accountability

  • Process collections, adjustments, and deductions
  • Escalate balances to Managers, sales team or 3rd party collection agency according to guidelines
  • Provide documentation requested by customers in order to assist in the collections process
  • Make collection notes and provide status regarding collection activities
  • Escalate business questions to Senior Credit Analysts and Managers
  • Understand the A/R function, key policies, and standard operating procedures
  • Build effective relationships with internal parties to develop solutions and resolve issues collectively

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts receivable by applying cash remittances and receiving/depositing customer payments
  • Generate invoices transmit billing data to customers. Resolve billing inquires and answer customer questions.
  • Process collections and discuss account resolution with internal parties and correspond/negotiate with delinquent account owners
  • Prepare A/R reports and generate other A/R outputs
  • Post A/R activity to the general ledger and post receivable entries 
  • Perform month-end tasks and review with manager
  • Process adjustments and deductions as well as related entries

  • Bachelor’s Degree; preferably Accounting/Finance or business-related degree; with a minimum of one years of closely related Accounting/Finance experience is required. Will consider a minimum of five years of closely related experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience in Collections is required.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Relevant software applications experience is preferred – Oracle, QAD, High Radius, Bectran, Esker
  • Shared Services work experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Customer service.
  • Basic verbal and written communications skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast paced and multi-task environment.
  • Must be well organized and able to function within tight deadlines.
