Job Description

This position is responsible for the supply chain management of assigned goods and services, including total cost, scheduling and delivery, supplier quality and inventory performance. Additionally responsible for assisting with new product introductions including transition planning / supply negotiations.

  • Responsible for the cost, quality, reliability and delivery of purchased goods and services.
  • Determine the needs, shortages or required activity to meet production schedules and support inventory goals.
  • Initiate the appropiate activity required internally and externally to support the company's business objectives and production schedules.
  • Evaluates supplier performance and drives continous supplier improvement.
  • Communicates with internal departments to assure proper quaility, delivery and costs are obtained.
  • Develop and/or implement supplier fulfillment plans that improve raw material turns.
  • Support new product introductions.
  • Regulate and communicate (both internally and externally) the smooth flow of material in and out, while using inventory guidelines to prevent line shutdowns or poor customer fill rates.
  • Negotiate disposition and corrective actions for rejected or returned products generated from supplier defects.
  • Arrange special transportation via internal / external sources(domestic & international) with logistics' assistance.
  • Maintain supplier records / commodity files (electronic and other).
  • Participates in continous improvement projects.
  • Occasional supplier visits.

Requirements:

- Education Requirements: Associate's Degree
- Field of Study: Business Administration
- Experience Requirements (Years): 3-5 Years
- Experience Requirements (Field): In a procurement/supply chain related position
- Specialized skills, equipment, software, and/or machines used to perform job:
Familiarity of MRP/ERP systems (Oracle a plus); APICS, CPM, CPSM certifications a plus; MS Office suite proficient; excellent negotiation skills.
