  • Responsible for the cost, quality, reliability and delivery of purchased goods and services.       
  • Determine the needs, shortages, or required activity, to meet or support the production schedules.           
  • Initiate the appropriate activity required internally and externally to support the company’s business objectives and production schedule.             
  • Responsible for lowering raw material inventory and driving for the consignment of goods.      
  • Communicate requirements to external and internal suppliers (domestic & international) and follow up as necessary.     
  • Support new product introductions.        
  • Arrange special transportation via internal/external sources (domestic & international) with logistics’ assistance.          
  • Regulate smooth flow of material in and out of the facility, while using inventory guidelines to prevent line shutdowns or poor customer order fill rates.          
  • Direct component reject disposition through supplier base.   
  • Review supplier quarterly assessment reports and initiates corrective action for all suppliers under performance.           
  • Support and/or lead Product Cost Take Out and new product initiatives/teams.    
  • Negotiate agreements with new and existing suppliers that support the company business plan.           
  • Evaluate supplier performance and strive for continuous supplier improvement. 
  • Participate as lead member on Warranty Reduction Teams.    

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years purchasing experience.
  • Knowledge of QAD is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required.
  • Normal office environment with exposure to shop floor.
  • Oracle - MRP Exerpience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing operation with ISO-9001:2008 / Lean Manufacturing work environment is a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
