As Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk – you will be responsible for carrying out transactional tasks within the accounts payable process and escalating and resolving issues as they arise. This includes executing payments according to the proper AP workflow, policies and procedures. You will also handle, track, and match purchase orders, invoices, and goods received.

Reporting directly to the Accounts Payable Manager – this position will be located in Tampa, FL*.

Major Accountability:

  • Process payments and taxes
  • Generate AP reports and other AP outputs (i.e. invoice hold / past due list)
  • Respond to AP inquiries
  • Retain records
  • Receive invoices and track / match purchase orders and receipts
  • Escalate business issues to Senior Analysts and Managers
  • Understand the AP function, key policies, and standard operating procedures
  • Build effective relationships with internal parties to develop solutions and resolve issues collectively

Essential Job Functions:

  • Process payments and taxes after obtaining manager’s approval
  • Receive invoices and match to both the purchase order and goods receipt
  • Respond to and resolve AP inquiries
  • Prepare AP reports and generate other AP outputs
  • Post AP activity to the GL
  • Perform month-end tasks and review with Manager
  • Retain records

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; preferably Accounting/Finance or business-related degree; with a minimum of one years of closely related Accounting/Finance experience is required. Will consider a minimum of five years of closely related experience in lieu of degree.
  • Disbursements OR Processing/Exception Handling experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Relevant software applications experience is preferred – Oracle, QAD, Coupa, Ariba, Vim,
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Customer service
  • Basic verbal and written communications skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast paced and multi-task environment
  • Must be well organized and able to function within tight deadlines.
