You will ensure timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers, maintain accurate records and control reports, conduct reconciliation with intercompany, review applicable accounting reports and accounts payable register to ensure accuracy.   Reporting directly to the Accounting Supervisor; this position is located in Mississauga, ON.   We put the 'fast' in fast food and the refinement in fine dining.   • Manage full AP cycle
  • Intercompany reconciliation
  • AP SOX controls
  Essential Job Functions:
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
  • Perform 2-way/3-way match (approved purchase order / receiving slip / approved invoice)
  • Ensure approved invoices are within the Approval Authorization Matrix
  • Run weekly Check/ACH/Wire payments and distribute checks accordingly to ensure vendors get paid timely
  • Conduct monthly reconciliation with inter companies
  • Monitor unvouchered AP register to make sure vouchering is timely recorded and conduct unvouchered AP analysis
  • Reconcile vendor statements against sub-ledgers, research and correct discrepancies
  • Assist in month end closing for AP related items
  • Ensure PO price overrides must have appropriate approval with proper documentation
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to all vendor inquiries; prepare vendor forms as needed
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Assist with other projects as needed

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:
  • Post-Secondary education in Accounting or Finance is required
  • Minimum 1-3 years of direct work experience in Accounts Payable, manufacturing background is preferred. 
  • MS Excel and MS Word expertise
  • Excellent written and oral English language skills
  • Ability to function as part of multiple teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized and comfortable working with tight deadlines
