Have you been looking for the chance to use your expertise to make a real difference in an organization?   Under moderate supervision, the Systems Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.  The System Administrator participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure and ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.  This is a Journeyman-level Professional who applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education.   Reporting directly to the IS Manager, this position is in Mississauga, ON.   We put the 'fast' in fast food and the refinement in fine dining.   • Server operating systems and Virtualization platforms
  • Storage area networks, high availability, and backup and recovery
  • Networking equipment including switches, routers, wireless and firewalls.
  • Data center operations including system alerting, monitoring and response
  • Manages physical and virtual servers to ensure uptime, performance, and security patches are applied in a timely manner.
  • Manages Microsoft Windows servers, Linux servers and SQL server databases.
  • Provides support for all back-office infrastructure and various business applications.  Works with Front Office team and users to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Ensures backup and recovery of systems and data.
  • Resolves problems and recommends/implements preventative measures.
  • Effectively prepares and manages budget for areas of responsibility.
  • Actively monitors and improves back office data center environments.
  • Continuously acquires the knowledge necessary to research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.  Identifies approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Perform all duties under general supervision   

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Must have completed a Bachelor’s of Science degree, or 12 years experience in lieu of education.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in information technology.
  • Experience applying Windows, Active Directory, and Back Office infrastructures design and architecture techniques and approaches.
  • Experience working with hardware and software vendors.
  • Experience with back office, Windows Server, storage, and data center security concepts, principles, and access management.
  • Experience participating in the design and architecture of data center technologies and their daily operations.
  • Experience with server performance, application performance, and performance monitoring tools and processes.
  • Storage area networking and related SAN experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other database management system.
  • Experience with enterprise class hardware and software-based backup and recovery solutions.
