Have you been looking for the chance to use your expertise to make a real difference in an organization?   The Sr. Accountant for Corporate & Lease Accounting is directly responsible for the ongoing accounting including close activities, reconciliations and reporting/analysis for business transactions in various corporate accounting areas (debt, deferred compensation, pension, etc.). In addition, this position will play a key role in oversight of the corporate lease accounting process. This position requires technical accounting knowledge and will provide critical analysis and information. Works closely with various corporate departments including accounting, treasury, shared services, human resources and risk management.   Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting, this position is based in New Port Richey, Florida.   • General ledger accounting (journal entries, account analysis, reconciliation, etc.) for various corporate accounting areas including budget/forecast
  • Manage global lease software to ensure all leases are appropriately identified and reported
  • Technical accounting research/documentation on an ad hoc basis for matters and/or disclosure changes impacting the business
  • Adhere to and maintain a strict environment of internal controls to ensure processes and procedures are followed

Job Requirements

Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for the Company's general ledger accounting for various corporate accounting areas including but not limited to journal entries, account analysis, reconciliation, etc.
  • Maintain global lease software including accurate inputs and review of outputs for disclosure, including interface monitoring between lease software and ERP systems
  • Review and approve new leases data entry in global lease software for completeness and accuracy; monitor leases for modifications, including terminations or extension options and ensure the accounting for such modifications is appropriately recorded
  • Engage in, coordinate with and maintain excellent working relationships with individuals involved in the procurement/renewal of leases
  • Assists with facilitating the audit process and ensure financial statements are in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepare schedules and documentation to support the internal SOX controls and business process audits.
  • Continuously evaluate established processes to identify improvement opportunities    
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience required
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, technical accounting issues and SOX control environment required
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail and deadline oriented skills required
  • Experience working with a decentralized team of professionals in a matrix organization a plus
  • Candidate must be proficient in a Microsoft Windows environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)
  • Excellent research, written, analytical, problem-solving, verbal and listening skills required
  • Ability to effectively work and create effective partnerships with employees at all levels within the organization required
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic business and work environment and manage multiple priorities required
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills required
  • Highly motivated and self-directed required with the ability to work independently with minimal managerial supervision
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of time is required
