As a Value Stream Strategic Sourcing Associate, you will assist with many cost savings projects simultaneously, analyze data, and generate savings reports. You will interact daily with suppliers and cross functional teams.  The Value Stream Strategic Sourcing Associate will implement the activities to establish a competitive award and effective quote for operations executions, effectively work with cross functional team, and ensure metrics are met in terms of cost, quality, delivery, service.

Reporting directly to the Value Stream Strategic Sourcing Manager-Garland, this position is in Mississauga, ON.

Job Responsibilities:    

  • Assist in day-to-day sourcing requests to ensure projects are met while introducing value and savings to value stream
  • Assist with quote process by identifying bidders, and administrating of the bidding process conduct, analyze and evaluate proposals by comparing costs, specifications and delivery terms to propose recommendations to drive total cost of ownership
  • Gather drawings and send request for quote package to manufacturers. Review engineering changes, inform suppliers, and work with purchasing team for implementation and transition
  • Assist engineering changes through implementation cycle: Quote, First Article Request, Benchmark, Awarding business
  • Review components of cost models: unit price, freight, labor, burden
  • Schedule meeting with key stakeholder and track and communicate cost saving project status.
  • Reviews supplier's prices and update system to reflect most current quotes. Review invoice price and mitigate variances
  • Place Purchase Orders and ensure sample orders arrives on time. Expedite purchase order when needed
  • Assess data and report savings results
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Operations
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of related experience
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and financial skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership, negotiating, influencing and persuasive skills required.
  • Must be pro-active, result-oriented and strive for continued improvement.
  • Strong communication skills both orally and written
  • Should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Internet software
  • High commitment to getting things done, results orientated and driven
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex tasks with excellent attention to detail
