As a Manufacturing Engineer at Welbilt, you’ll be responsible for
working closely with production personnel to analyze and develop efficient manufacturing procedures, implement continuous improvement processes, and be involved in introduction of new technology (printed circuit board and manual assembly) to the production floor. This is a hands-on role with significant time spent on the manufacturing floor.
Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, this position is located in Monterrey, Mexico.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Assure fair and consistent time standards for Production and Fabrication Departments to allow for accurate costing and manpower planning.
  • Design and control the use of storage and assembly space in the plant.
  • Conduct independent studies and manage projects to improve operations and reduce non-value-added activities.
  • Design balanced assembly lines thatmeet the capacity requirements set out by management.
  • Determine plant layout.
  • Manage the implementation of projects, such as COI, to improve productivity.
  • Support Production and Fabrication Supervisors with the use and implementation of time standards and work areas.
  • Maintain routings and standards.
  • Prepare ECO’s.
  • Fulfill the financial controls and riskmanagement responsibilities inherent in the position.
  • Conduct yourself in accordance with theCompany Code of Ethics Policy at all times.
  • Support projects arising from Lean implementation and kaizen events.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience in an engineering capacity.
  • Experience using AutoCad, SolidWorks or Pro-Engineering software packages.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Understanding and appreciation of the various functions involved in capital projects.
  • Familiarity with the food service industry and/or gas cooking equipment would be beneficial, but is not required.
  • Heavy exposure to shop floor.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English
