As Gridline Operator, you will be responsible for assembling and soldering evaporators per Engineering drawings, specifications, and instructions in support of and meeting production schedules while also meeting customer quality expectations. Grid line operators work in a physically-demanding and fast-paced environment, they continually lift, lower and slide copper evaporator components for the duration of their shifts.  Also requires hand dexterity to place evaporator components together prior to final assembly. They work with conveyors conveying equipment, industrial washers and ovens, and miscellaneous fixtures and hand tools to assemble, solder, inspect and repair copper evaporators.

Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, this position is based in Manitowoc, Wisconsin*.

 Major Accountability:

  • Assemble partitions and evaporators; Inspect and perform minor repair of evaporators.

  • Operate the grid oven, washer, conveyor conveying equipment and tube bender within the parameters set forth by the operating manual(s).

  • Use various fixtures and hand tools in evaporator assembly. Lift and move tools, parts and material per prescribed methods.

  • Perform Waste Treatment procedures as required.

  • Produce Evaporators per Safety, Quality and Efficiency standards.  Work effectively in a team environment.

  • Follow and comply with all safety rules and practices.

  • Complete all needed paperwork and use a computer.

  • Work in a fast-paced, physically-demanding, team-oriented environment.




Job Requirements

 Job Requirements:

  • Successfully complete all training required for certification in the Grid Line Operations within 2 months

  • Must be able to read and work from engineering drawings, instructions, and standards.

  • Operate torch for solder repair
  • Read and use measuring equipment
  • Excellent Verbal Communications skills
  • Good Organizational and Multi-tasking skills
  • Operate computer to perform daily job functions
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 41-lbs unassisted

  • Ability to maneuver fixtured evaporators up to 100-lbs unassisted

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically-demanding, team-oriented environment.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Shift hours may slightly vary and may be subject to overtime based on operational requirements.
