As a Financial Analyst, this person will be responsible for QAD, HFM and FAS related tasks and reports as they apply to the general ledger, financial reporting and analysis for multi-locations within a region.  This role will provide backup for the Manager Accounting / Director of Finance and provide reporting on an as needed basis.  Reporting directly to the Manager Accounting, this position is located in Mt. Pleasant, MI.

Major Accountability:

  • Recurring reporting and analysis of sales, orders, delivery, inventory and expenses.
  • Month-end closing cycle journal entries and reconciliations.

  • Detailed budget and forecast planning and analysis.

  • Recurring tax analysis and reporting. 

Essential Job Functions:


  • Create and maintain QAD, HFM and other reports to support driver-based financial analysis and properly support reconciliation of account activity and balances.
  • Analyze and reconcile fixed assets, depreciation and construction in process within FAS to ensure accuracy and timely reporting.   
  •  Prepare daily sales/inventory/OTIF reports for product comparison with plan reports, and distribute reports to departments.  
  • Analyze purchases and prepare/report sales & use tax return information. Assist with audit preparation and defense as required. Coordinate property tax accruals and payment preparation process.  
  • Assist with monthly closing cycle through maintenance of closing checklist; the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations; preparation and reconciliation of actual/plan/reset loads into HFM. Recurring tax analysis and reporting.   
  • Maintain templates and coordinate annual budgets and forecasts for department expenses working closely with department managers.  
  • Review and analyze department expenses monthly vs. budget/reset and prior year and proactively summarize and report key variances to Management.  Other ad hoc reporting as needed and with some supervision.  

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin, Economics, Accounting, or Finance required and a minimum of 2 years experience.
•Strong MS Office.  Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, charts and complex formulas, is required.
•Demonstrated propensity for data analysis.
•Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
