  • Work safely and possess the discernment of when to ask for help/training on equipment, process or tasks.
  • Set-up and install equipment and related components with little or no direction.
  • Act as a contributing team member in Lab activities.
  • Provide clear and concise verbal & written communication.
  • Perform work to a high level of accuracy and integrity.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory.

Job Requirements

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Operate performance test room & 'Unit under test' and process equipment under minimal direction.
  • Operate lab equipment such as: scale, vacuum pumps, gauges, hand-held instruments, cameras, dimensional and electrical measuring equipment.
  • Operate computer (Microsoft Office) and data acquisition systems under minimal direction.
  • Apply established troubleshooting skills to common refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical components.
  • Operate a variety of hand tools in the appropriate application.
  • Independently read and interpret basic wiring and component diagrams.
  • Maintain lab cleanliness related to Lab tools and equipment.

Specialized Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Associates Degree and/or Technical Certification/Diploma in HVAC, Electro-Mechanical/Electronics, and 5 years of experience is required.  Will consider 10+ years of experience in lieu of education requirement.
  • Possess EPA Type I, II, or Universal Refrigerant Handling Certificate.
  • Demonstrate functional understanding in each of the following specialized skills:  Refrigeration Theory, Electronics & Controls; Data Acquisition, System-level Electrical Theory; Brazing/Soldering.
  • Demonstrate the desire for growth, experience, and team participation.
  • Ability to stand and walk on concrete 100% of the work day, ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, lift and to carry 35 lbs.
