As Engineer, you will perform a variety of engineering work requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. Tasks typically relate to design, test, verification and reliability of mechanical and electromechanical food service products and systems.


Reporting directly to the SVP New Product Development & Innovation, this position is located at our headquarters in New Port Richey, FL*.

  Major Accountability:
  • Work on new product designs, product improvements, test analysis, and production and service liaisons.

  • Prepare basic analysis, test, performance, schedule, and cost information as required.

  • Responsible for timely, cost effective development of product designs, component and material requirements, bills of materials, and assembly instructions for Welbilt equipment.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare concept sketches, detail drawings, design models, and specification documents for product designs.

  • Prepare root cause analysis, test performance, schedule and cost information, as required.

  • Prepare progress reports, feasibility and concept studies, etc., as required.

  • Assist in the preparation of manuals and sales literature on assigned projects.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of progressive work experience in related capacity.
  • Experience working in the foodservice industry or working with commercial appliances or equipment is preferred.
  • SolidWorks experience.
  • Knowledgeable of fundamental engineering principles concepts, practices and procedures of electrical mechanical function.
  • Understanding of design theory and has demonstrated the ability to read and prepare drawings.
  • Prior experience with industrial automation (ideally) in the food processing sector.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced cross functional team environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills and project/task leadership experience.
  • Normal office / lab work environment. Able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
