As Customer Service Specialist – you will support Garland's objectives to continue to build itself as a recognized world class leader in the Food Equipment industry.  Our Customer Service Specialists provide optimum sales service to customers utilizing their knowledge, skills and professionalism.   Reporting directly to the Customer Service Manager; this position is located in Mississauga, ON*.   We put the 'fast' in fast food and the refinement in fine dining.   • The Customer Service Specialist will deal with incoming calls from existing general market customers and will handle all aspects of an assigned sales territory.
  • Serve as information resource on customer service policies and procedures.        
  • Enter orders in our information/processing system – QAD.
  • Aware of the status of General Market account sales orders, product lead times, delivery schedules, equipment returns and replacements.           
  • Answer questions and interface with other company departments.
  • Communicate clearly with customers through a variety of means (via telephone, email, fax and the internet); including inquiries and complaints about products and services. Required to follow-up and/or take ownership for the customer’s account until a question is answered or an issue is resolved.     

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent; and a minimum of three years of experience in sales, finance, or product/customer service is required.
  • Ability to work with and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization – both internally and externally.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem solving/analytical skills. 
  • Ability to resourcefully use the Telephone, Computer, Printer, Copy machine and Fax machine and Multiple-line switchboard.
  • Ability to function with some supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to deal with frequent change, delay or unexpected events. 
  • Strong teamwork skills. Must be a team player. 
  • Must be well organized and capable of multi-tasking.
