Under broad direction, the Manager Commodity manages the sourcing and supplier processes within the plant or local product line.  The role manages all sourcing activities for local, non-strategic suppliers, using the standard sourcing processes and systems and adheres to and supports strategic supplier agreements, enterprise projects, and other strategic company initiatives at the site level.

Reporting directly to the VP and Managing Director- Frymaster, this position is based in Shreveport, Louisiana*.

Major Accountability:

  • Achievement of site savings and cost reduction targets

  • Site supplier metrics consistent with targets: OTD, DPM, COPQ

  • Timely NPI gate approvals with local Sourcing content

  • Timely resolution of local Supply issues

Essential Job Functions:

  • Leads GMO direct and indirect savings projects as well as Sourcing actions and NPI gate requirements based on the global NPI process, ensuring overall prices meet or exceed plant savings goals. 

  • Manages plant suppliers to meet metrics in terms of cost, quality, delivery, service and technical support within the assigned Value Stream.

  • Manages the supplier readiness matrix for plant NPI projects and ensures timely task completion, with Category Sourcing support as needed.

  • Supports global/regional Strategic Sourcing projects led by Category Leaders using the Strategic Sourcing cross-functional Enterprise processes.

  • Ensures relevant global Category Sourcing support for Innovation, NPI, KC, and Value Stream GMO savings initiatives where required.

  • Develops relationships with local supplier base in coordination with the Category Sourcing Leads.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business or similar field and 7-10 years progressive experience in supplier management. 10+ years of progressive experience may be considered in lieu of education.

  • Business experience with a strong track record of accomplishments in high volume, repetitive, manufacturing sourcing.

  • Prior purchasing experience, expertise and industry knowledge in FSG primary major commodity category areas.

  • Possess 2-3 years of international sourcing with an emphasis in the Asian and Mexican markets.

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and financial skills; Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.

  • Primarily office setting, but may be required to go on production floor as needed; ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • May be required to work off-schedule hours to meet goals and objectives.
