As Associate Manager Commodity at Manitowoc Ice this person is responsible for providing local Sourcing support to the Ice Product Line facility(s); providing strategic alignment of sourcing and supplier relationships at Product Line level; leading Savings initiatives (GMO & Enterprise); representation on New Product Introduction (NPI) projects; coordinating and executing supplier management and actions with Category Leaders; participating on Operations Management team, EIM and others; ensure Plant Sourcing Metrics are met.

Reporting directly to the Souring Project Manager, this position is based in Manitowoc, Wisconsin*.
Major Accountability:

  • Strategic alignment of Sourcing and supplier relationships at Product Line level
  • Lead local Sourcing activities for facility(s); provide support to Global Category Leaders for Ice Product Line
  • Represent Supply Chain in local NPI projects with central coordination
  • Management of factory suppliers and local implementation of Global Category strategies
  • Lead Savings Initiatives for facility/Product Line (GMO & Enterprise support)
  • Primary Buyer/Procurement responsibilities for Key Ice Product Suppliers

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Primary Buyer/Procurement responsibilities for Key Ice Product Suppliers; Strategic alignment of Sourcing and supplier relationships at Product Line level
  • Savings Initiatives (Ice GMO & Enterprise); drive execution of GMO Savings projects; support global/regional Enterprise Sourcing projects led by Category Leaders; Overall Saving Tracking and Forecasting
  • New Product Introductions (NPI); represent Supply Chain in local NPI projects with central coordination
  • Management of factory suppliers; first level of escalation for supplier issues (Ice Product Line);  US Domestic
  • Coordinates actions/updates with Category Leaders; Support and contribute to ensuring Plant Sourcing Metrics are met
  • Participate on Operations Management team, EIM and other teams as determined appropriate

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Procurement and a minimum four years of experience in Supply Chain; Procurement/Purchasing; will consider 10 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain; Procurement/Purchasing, in lieu of education.
  • APICS and/or ISM certifications desired, not required
  • Strong Negotiation skills and experience
    Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills, root cause and resolution of supplier performance issues
  • International travel, 15% of the time is required
